Hydraulic Valve Lash Adjustors (HLA)

A unique feature of Cooper engines that eliminate the need for periodic valve lash (tappet) adjustments. They also reduce maintenance; contribute to better combustion with the spin-off effect resulting in better fuel efficiency; reduce mechanical noise at the valve train area, contributing to lower basic noise level.

Closed Crankcase Ventilation

Regulates crankcase pressure; lowers oil consumption; eliminates visible blow-by; improves engine efficiency; protects the surrounding environment; helps meet environmental regulations.

Gallery Cooled Piston

The oil spray jet directed at the bottom of the piston helps control the maximum piston temperature preventing piston wear and engine damage.

Bed Plate Design

The bed plate for main bearing support makes the engine rugged and suitable for heavy duty applications. This feature is not available in any comparable engine in India.

4 Valves/Cylinder Design

Improves volumetric efficiency and enables high power density (compactness).

Piston Cooling Jets (PCJs)

Help remove the excess heat from the piston, allowing for higher thermal loads to be reached.

Rear Gear Train

The gear arrangement promotes smoother operation reducing torsional vibrations and noise ensuring a quieter and more comfortable experience.

Ceramic Coated Piston Rings

The ceramic crown coating withstands temperatures of up to 1300°C and pressures of up to 69,000 kPa (10,000 psi) helping keep the piston cooler and reducing friction, which stops it from softening and failing prematurely.

Centrally placed injector

Allows downward spray direction reducing the risk of the fuel coming into contact with cylinder walls promoting better combustion.

Off-set of Liner and Crank Shaft Center Lines

Reduces Piston Slap (harsh repetitive sound). Contributes to lower mechanical noise of the engine.

Auto Belt Tensioner

Eliminates the need for periodic manual belt tension adjustments resulting in reduced maintenance and increased DG availability.

Compacted Graphite Cylinder (CGI) Head

Helps improve the power density of the engine.
